Country of Origin:

Object Type:

Thomas Webb

This is what we believe to be a Thomas Webb St. Andrews pattern, lead crystal, cut glass, square spirit decanter.

The decanter is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.

The neck of the decanter is cut with eight broad flutes which cascade onto the shoulders.  The body of the decanter is decorated with cut stars and fans in the St. Andrews pattern.  The body ends in a star-cut base which measures 9.7 cm (3.9 inches) square.  The decanter itself is 17.7 cm (7.1 inches) in height without the stopper and 24.5 cm (9.8 inches) tall with the stopper inserted.   There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any evidence of restoration.

The stopper is of solid facet form and is contemporary with the decanter.  It is a good fit and we believe it to be the original.

The decanter weighs 2,150 gm.
