A book that has been read, but is in good condition. Minimal damage to the book cover eg. scuff marks, but no holes or tears. If this is a hard cover, the dust jacket may be missing. Binding has minimal wear. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. No highlighting of text, no writing in the margins, and no missing pages. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections. THUNDERBALL ** Ian Fleming:
This is the Pan First paperback edition from 1963 ~ 1st printing which is getting harder to find.
The book is in good condition. The binding is tight and apart from a light lean to the book overall condition is good, paper is slightly browned but that is fairly common for the earliear Pan editions.
It has the famous Raymond Hawkey cover (the only one where the designer is attributed)~ not a perfect or fine copy but it is a nicely intact first edition with an iconic cover......well written as well...
These early Pan covers from the 1960's have become collectible, especially this one with the bullet holes in the cover this Bond character still captures the imagination for generations young and old.
Pan Paperback, 1963 Paperback Cover in good condition this is an early version of a still popular theme ~ Pan first edition 1963 (book first published by Cape 1961) prices were rising in 1960's England a 3/6 label sits on the front...this sold out very quickly when this sensational cover arrived in the bookshops of 60's England.
See Post & Packing Policy below
POSTAGE & PACKAGING I have now been selling regularly on ebay for six months… ~ almost without exception all of the people who have bought from me have been helpful and courteous; if there has been a difficult area, it lies in getting awkward shaped and larger articles safely to their destination. So here is a policy which I hope will cover most contingencies. If there is anything that is unclear about this please do contact me.
Objective: Once an item is sold I want to get it to you as efficiently and safely as possible, if you pay promptly many items can be in the letter box and on their way to you on the day of purchase. (For smaller item if you specify ‘immediate postage’, I can ofter put the item in the post without a Certificate of Posting, it can go same day). Taking items to the Post Office can take a little longer!
Packaging: All items will be stiffened by card and posted in strong envelopes, unless larger than an A4 size in which case they will be sent carefully rolled to fit within a postal tube; recycled boxes and envelopes are used whenever possible; bubble wrap and loose fill are also used to protect your purchases.
Payments: My preferred way of receiving payments is Paypal and most of the time this works extremely well. I realize though that this does not work for everyone, so below some alternative payment methods are listed in case you do not have a Paypal account.
For items under £5-00 UK buyers can send us postage stamps to the value of their purchase (I prefer this). Postal Orders are also acceptable; Cheques are now slow to process so I greatly prefer direct transfer of funds by telephone or internet banking. (I’m not particularly keen on this~ unless there in an exceptional reason for doing so).
Postage: Royal Mail: Unless other wise specified: to keep costs to a minimum I will generally use Royal Mail Second Class Post. Other services can be negotiated at cost. Multiple purchases will reduce postal costs but more weight still costs more money. I go to the Post Office two times a week (min). Dispatch from PO obtains a certificate of postage; I never mark an item as dispatched until it is actually in the post.
International Buyers: Use Paypal for printed goods (old magazines postcards prints etc) For smaller items I strongly advise use of 1st class services; it is the most reliable and effective way of ensuring safe delivery. Postage on ‘Collection Only’ can be expensive so please consider carefully before bidding and check with us if possible. Postage costs are not refundable once an item has been sent and I reserve the position of asking for payment by direct transfer of funds or banker’s draft on higher value items.
Collection Only: means that in our opinion the item is not suitable for postal dispatch or is too fragile, bulky or heavy in relation to its sale value: hence it is offered on a clear understanding that the buyer will need to make arrangements for its collection. Cash on Collection~ if you use this method please do not pay me by Paypal unless pre-agreed.
Delivery Service: Depending on location we can sometimes arrange delivery but there will be carriage charge for this service. Terms~ Strictly Cash on Delivery and pre-agreed.
Drop Off / COD: For much of the year we have the facility of a drop-off point in London E 14. This can be negotiated both prior and subsequent to a successful bid. Carriage Charge of £6-00 ~ £12-00 for this: Terms~ Strictly Cash on Collection.
Returns Policy: If you wish to return something I expect you to meet the full postal /carriage cost unless it is clearly evidenced that I am at fault. (revised March 2011)
Feedback: Once you’ve received the item safely I would ask that you give me prompt feedback; we do not like items to go astray or be lost in cyber space!
