Our MBC is essentially suitable for any turbocharged engine that has a pneumatically operated waste gate actuator.

Purpose and Description

The 100% genuine and original brass MBC valve! Not to be confused with other cheap replicas, money back guarantee, made to last and exceptionally high quality. You will not be disappointed with this. Buy with confidence, you are looking at one of the most tried and tested manual boost controllers on the market that works exceptionally well. During testing on a rolling road we found it not only allows regulation of boost but almost eliminates waste gate creep and boost spiking. Rated to 40psi with a simple and effective design, results in a highly versatile, reliable and maintenance free boost controller.

Unique Features: 
  • A bespoke stainless steel ball and spring specifically made for and only found on Mumby Developments MBC's eliminate the risk of jamming, making for consistent performance and reliability.
  • Exceptionally high quality - solid brass body, hose tails and washer, with stainless steel bolt, nut, ball and spring ensure excellent corrosion resistance.
  • High quality tapered BSP fitted hose tails.
How it works:
  • Simply positioned in-line on the hose to the turbo waste gate actuator, with the hose tail in-line with the adjusting bolt to an intake source and the other to the actual waste gate actuator. Instructions are provided. 
  • The boost controller uses the renowned and proven Dawes method to accurately regulate the flow of air to the turbo waste gate actuator, thus allowing the pressure signal magnitude to be reduced, keeping your waste gate actuator from activating for longer and hence spooling your turbocharger more to create an increase in boost pressure.
  •  It not only allows regulation of boost pressure but delays the pressure signal to the turbo waste gate actuator until the pre-calibrated boost limit is met. Thus significantly reducing waste gate creep, to give faster spool times, hence decreasing turbo lag and resulting in increased throttle response. This desirable characteristic can also be achieved without actually increasing your boost pressure.
  • The stainless steel 8mm allen key bolt is simply turned clockwise to increase boost level and anti-clockwise to lower it again and secured in position via a stainless steel 17mm nut.
  • I must stress this is NOT a generic bleed valve! Bleed valves intrinsically just bleed pressure off the waste gate actuator line and do nothing to help waste gate creep, often creating severe pressure spiking and risk causing engine damage due to the large volumes of pre-metered air they bleed off from the intake system.
Recommendations:
  • We strongly advise to start with the bolt wound out to its maximum position to ensure you do not initially over boost your engine, and research what the recommend boost limit is for your specific engine.
  • Ideally this MBC should be setup in conjunction with a pressure gauge to ensure the recommended boost level for your engine is not exceeded. 
  • Please be careful when setting this valve up, it is a specialist component and should be treated with respect. 
  • Fitting is at the users own risk and we hold no responsibility for any damages or injuries incurred.
  • We can supply premium quality 4mm ID silicone fitting hose in blue at an extra cost of £3/meter.
