THE LUNAR NEW YEAR COLLECTION IN CELEBRATION OF AN ANCIENT CULTURE AND A LIVING TRADITION Brand New 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed The stamps in The Lunar New Year Collection represent the 12 animal signs of Chinese astrology the Rat, Ox, Tiger,Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. From the Rooster, the first stamp issued in 1993, to the Monkey, the final stamp in the series, this collection was created by celebrated Chinese-American designer Clarence Lee. In 1993, in recognition of the contribution made by Chinese-Americans,the United States Postal Service issued a special commemorative stamp, the ''Year of the Rooster.'' It was so popular that an unprecedented decision was made to issue a Lunar New Year Stamp every Year, fulfilling the 12-year cycle of the Chinese lunar zodiac. The complete series of 12 stamps has now been expertly engraved by craftsmen as solid silver ingots, layered with 24-karat gold, to create The Lunar New Year Collection. Each ingot in this unique collection faithfully reproduces the historic tradition maintained to this day in the Chinese New Year Festival. A special Jeweler's Cloth and Gloves, a lacquered wood Collector's Chest, a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and a complete sheet of mint-condition Lunar Stamps personally signed by the designer Clarence Lee. The intricate engraving has been flawlessly reproduced in precious metal. Each ingot is exactly the same size as the original stamp and is 2.2mm thick. Despite the worldwide interest in the Lunar New Year Stamps, the minting has been strictly limited to only 8,800 sets in the U.S. When the issue is complete, the dies will be defaced and displayed in the Hall of Stamps at the U.S. Postal Headquarters, Washington D.C., together with the first set of stamp ingots to be minted. The Lunar New Year Collection is being issued in a strictly limited edition of only 8,800 complete collections in the U.S. It is not av ailable in any store or Post Office, but only by subscription through this special offer. Once the edition limit is reached, the dies will be defaced so they can never be used again. Shipping and Handling
