A very stylish and unusual submerged sommerso textured block glass vase vessel by Mandruzzato. Submerged with royal and glacier ice blue layers within the clear glass and textured down 2 sides. Also another interesting feature of this vase is the molten layers of the colours has a wave within the glass from the making process which I have not seen before, just thought we would mention it as it makes the vase more interesting. We understand that this vase is a rare piece from about the 1960s period. A very fashionable piece of art glass originally made on the Island of Murano.
Size: Just short of 130mm (13cm)
Condition: The condition for a vase this age is very good with no chips / no cracks. Mentioned for complete accuracy there is a few very tiny pin end marks which are rough to touch to some of the side walls which is normal from the textured finish as it meets the polished flat sides. Other superficial marks with age and movement.

The company Mandruzzato for at least four decades. since 1956 (when Luigi Mandruzzato founded the family company which was specialized in the decoration of lighting fixture glassware), the firm has pursued its ideals for new shapes and has thus brought mandruzzato to the forefront in the polishing sector. they are able to satisfy every individual request of their clientele. in 1965 there were some changes made when Gianfranco, son of Luigi Mandruzzato, ventured into the field of glass sculpting. After only two years he took over from is father, refining and improving engraving and polishing techniques and earned the opportunity of being able to model and finish pieces that the world famous artists Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Marc Chagall, and others had created for the celebrated "Fucina degli Angeli". It was during this period, and immediately after war that Gianfranco Mandruzzato decided to create his own ornamental pieces (until 1975), when the company made its debut firstly on the national and European market, and then worldwide. The success of the company, which has always maintained its artisan ideas, has been its frequent showing at trade fairs in collaboration with the Venice Chamber of Commerce, and institute for foreign trade plus individual efforts. one must remember the presence of mandruzzato at "M.A.C.E.F." in Milan, at the Frankfurt fair, at Tokio life style, at the Paris fair, and various venues in the united states. Due to this constant exchange and research the company was awarded the prize for foreign trade 1977/1978 by the Chamber of Commerce in Venice, the award being for the high quality and design of their articles.Jewell box, ash tray, vases, engraved and polished articles are always covered by a quality guarantee which the fruit of the experience of three generations. The company is made up of eight people, and Alessandro Mandruzzato, Gianfranco's son who, although young, is carving a name for himself with his highly creative design. Till January 1st 2000 he is the owner of the factory.
