A very lovely Victorian locket; made from a gilt brass with rich turquoise blue enamelling to the front.
The centre is inlaid with an arts & craft cross, with joined circular sections each having a finely hammered top. This gives the cross an attractive textured look. The blue enamel is scalloped to outer edge revealing a fine engine turned border.
The back of the locket is plain gilt brass (rather dull as left uncleaned but would polish up well); as with the bail.
The interior has a heavily gilded left hand compartment showing the impression of the cross. The right side is framed and glazed with the original silk material inside.
Closes to without a click.
Measurements: 2" by 1.1" (including bail).
Please ensure that you have supersized all photos for clear, close up detail of item on offer and its condition.

I keep my shipping costs as low as possible. I combine postage so that there is only one standard shipping charge for an unlimited amount of items within the same package. The total value of items depends on whether insurance is required or not. I am not making any profit on insured items at all. I have to use this to cover myself in the event of loss. Thank you.
Please bear in mind that whilst I have done my best to provide a fair and accurate description of this item, all dates and descriptions are only my opinion and should NOT be taken as statements of fact.
Buyers should read the description in full and study all the photographs (which themselves form part of the description). The images can be enlarged to show more detail. Please ask any questions PRIOR to bidding. You should also check item measurements carefully.
By bidding on this item you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and have satisfied yourself that the item is what you want.
Please note-any boxes shown in photos are for display purposes only and are not included in the sale (unless otherwise stated).
Sadly I have recently had a number of bidders contact me days after winning an item to inform me they bid 'in error'. This is grossly unfair on a seller who believes they have a winning bid and genuine underbidders who did not win. Please bid carefully as all 'errors' will be treated in the same way as 'non paying bidders', a dispute filed to recover fees and a strike on the non paying bidders account.
The aim is to make this a pleasurable experience for both buyer and seller.
The items that I sell are antique/vintage, unless otherwise stated in the description. Pre-owned items have been used by owners before you and as such, may have signs of wear. If you are looking for only brand new or pristine condition items, then my auctions may not be for you.
Please send any contact through 'ebay messages' as I am not always near my emails and many end up lost forever in my spam folder! I will reply to you at the very earliest opportunity.
