You are invited to bid on this vintage Art Deco Newhall Pottery Worthington advertising ashtray c1930's. This lovely little ashtray has been transfer printed with a charming rural cricketing scene featuring Mr Dumkins of Muggleston taken from Charles Dickens Pickwick Papers. Mr Dumkins is shown walking with his bat in hand wearing a top hat and shin pads. Standing beside some wickets is another player, possibly Dickens Mr Podder and to the side is a young boy beside a score board. In the distance is a pubic house with the trademark name 'Worthington' on its side. Around the rim there is a mustard hand coloured edge and underneath bears the Newhall, Hanley, Staffs backstamp and Mr Dumkins of Muggleston C.C, Pickwick Papers mark. It measures approx. 4.5" across. This ashtray is in very good condition with no damage to the dish or wear to the hand coloured edge. There is a small glaze flaw underneath and the usual age related crazing underneath. A lovely Art Deco Newhall Pottery Worthington ashtray to add to your collection.
