VYSE/TORRES TUBE/VALVE 20w AMP AMAZING VOX/FENDER/MARSHALL HYBRID!
Probably the loudest 20w you will ever hear.
Up for auction is a my custom built Vyse British (Space) Invasion guitar amp.
This is a one off, one of kind, only one ever built ever!
Very Solid Pine cabinet, 2x12 in Bassman style with Basket Weave grill cloth and Buggy Whip tolex covering.
Beautifully handwired by Jason Sansome of Vyse amps.
The inside of the amp is work of art in it's self.
The amp features and early vox/marshall pre amp style design with two gain stages.
Hi and low inputs, the low input has one controllable gain stage, plugging in to the Hi input activates the second gain stage which is also controllable.
Master volume, with master volume up and the gain down you get sparkly voxy chimey cleans.
very Beatles very 60's very loud!, and plenty of clean headroom.
Bring up the first gain stage and you start to get edge of break up kinda tones, still kind of Voxy good for Jam style early Townshend licks.
Bring in the second gain stage, and your right into JTM45 Marshall Blues breaker territory.
Superb for growling blues, plenty of sustain, grunt, and crunch.
If you want even more gain you have to use a boost pedal, and the great thing is this amp just loves simple boosts or treble boosters.
you get the great tone of the amp, but more of it!
In general the amp takes pedals really well even delays and and other time based effects work really well in from of the amp.
Excellent Tone stack that actually works, Bass, Mid and treble. loads of low end from the Bass, the mid control actually works in a very usable way, if you pull the mids back you start to get some very american sounding tones from the amp.
The treble control won't give you blackface fender super ear bleeding treble, but there is plenty there to give the amp a nice spanky sound if you need it.
Add to this this the beautiful fender style tube reverb and and tube tremolo and you have an exceptionally versatile amp.
The reverb goes from adding a gentle ambience, to surf spring drippy goodness, to full on haunting endless tunnel tone reverb.
You can't beat a proper tube spring reverb noting else like it.
The tube tremolo takes you from gentle wobble to heavy chopping and has plenty speed on tap to get into machine gun, helicopter super fast chopping.
It's fitted with two 12" speakers. one is a vintage 1975 Celestion G12H 30. This is a classic speaker that was used by all the greats back in the day (Hendrix, clapton, Townshend, etc etc) It suits the amp well and doesn't have the massive Mid hump that a lot of other Celestion speakers have.
The second speaker is a Eminence Red Coat Wizard this is essentially Eminence's version of the G12H and tonally it's pretty much the identical.
both speakers are rated around 100db which makes them very efficient and very loud.
The amp has been recently serviced and re-valved with JJ/Tesla valves, harma tubes
The Output valves are Harma STR EL84 excellent Mullard style output tubes.
V1 ECC83s JJ/Tesla
V2 ECC83s JJ/Tesla
V3 ECC81 Vintagen NOS Mazada (reverb)
V4 ECC83s JJ/Tesla
V5 ECC82 Sovtek (Tremolo)
V6 EL84 HARMA STR
V7 EL84 HARMA STR
V9 GZ34 HARMA RETRO
You also notice that facia has a unique space themed design, the controls count down rather than up.
also you get unique names like thrust, booster (overdrive) Space (Reverb) Power (Master)
The amp is LOUD plenty loud enough for full band situations, rehearsal and live.
You also have the benefit of it sound pretty darn awesome at bedroom levels thanks to the rather good master volume control.
Comes with footswitch for reverb and tremolo, fitted hardwearing cover and service manual complete with instructions and schematics for easy repair.
The amp has been gigged but it's pretty smart condition all the same.
Willing to ship abroad please contact me for a quote and please bear in mind the amp is very heavy so it's going to be expensive.
Thanks for looking
