OPENING HOURS: Our online opening hours are 10am-4pm weekdays where we aim to reply within 1-2 hours. If we're busy posting and listing new items we'll get back to you first thing in the morning; Like any other weekday job please recognise that though we do not work weekends though we guarantee to try and get back to you as soon as humanly possible but answers may be slower. We're on Twitter, Facebook and the phone so there's never a question that we will not help out with.
POSTAGE RATES: The Thrifty Beatnik believes in the old-fashioned notion of fair play; you pay fast you get your item fast. Our courier collects bright and early at 7am every weekday morning to deliver your order as quickly as possible.
- UNITED KINGDOM: At Thrifty Beatnik we offer free 5 day economy postage which including packing and courier costs from us to you. We -strongly recommend- that you upgrade to a recorded service as we discount this to just a couple of pounds to give you peace of mind If you do choose for a paid service, our flat rate postage cost means that you only pay the highest postage and not a penny more, allowing you to buy as a wardrobe of items without any further postage costs. If you wish to combine immediate payment Buy-It-Now's with auctions please pay in full in the same invoice (if possible) at the same time and we'll rebate asap
- INTERNATIONAL BUY IT NOWS: We post all overseas Buy-It-Nows via Royal Mail International Signed For and offer combined discounted postage. Your item will come with a tracking number, and a signature will be required upon receipt. Unfortunately the eBay system doesn't allow for us to discount your postage costs so you need to pay for all items and postage at the same time. After weighing your order we will rebate the excess costs back to you asap.
- INTERNATIONAL COMBINED: Due to certain international postal services losing untracked items in transit we now require require International signed for on auctions for certain countries. Please do not ask us to send untracked as we cannot be liable for loss and will not bend on this policy after refunding too many lost items in good faith.
IMPORTANT INFO: Due to a small minority of problem buyers ruining our 1p sales for everyone, we have a strict limit of one auction sale item every 10 days with no exceptions: Though we do offer job-lots from time to time we are not a wholesaler.
NON-RECIEPT: If you don't receive your item within 7 days in the UK / 14 days worldwide simply get in touch. We're very liberal with the refunds if your helpful with your order info. We always post orders within 24 hours even if they end for 1p with free postage but if you cannot bear the thought of your one-off item going astray please take responsibility for your order and upgrade to a tracked service.
FEEDBACK: Once happy with your order please leave five star feedback (This helps us keep prices low and maintain our Charity section) and our system will match it for you automatically. Threats of negative feedback will not be answered and, due to the amount we sell, have very little impact on anything other than slowing down a refund in the event that there is a problem. Please do not leave neutral or negative feedback without contacting us first. Our feedback is testimony to our honesty and reliability but recently due to too many unnecessary problems with inexperienced eBayers (who don't understand the returns policy or read the item condition guide) we've had a couple of unnecessary blips. I'm sure you realise that even with thousands of positive transactions not everyone is exactly diplomatic or helpful in the world..
RETURNS POLICY: We doubt you’ll want to return your order but, if you do, we operate quibble-free returns policy. We recognise that the online buying of one-off vintage clothing without trying them on first sometimes throws up these issues as everyone’s perception of sizing, fit and quality is different. You are equally aware that our items have been pre-worn, pre-washed & may exhibit signs of wear such as fading, bobbling fabric, cracking print & missing tags. Therefore we make returns easy!
Therefore if not 100% satisfied with your order we do not need a reasons (or, in rare cases, personal abuse of our colleagues). We just expect a mature response to an easily solvable situation.
To Return Simply:
Keep hold of your returns form ncluded in you packge and not not remove any attached tags then; Login to eBay -> Go to your order / item page -> Click eBay Returns -> We'll confirm your return
Please note: If the eBay system glitches simply logout and login again. The order must be returned in its original condition along with tags card within 14 days of receipt. Please fill out the form with the item name number and the return code. The order is your responsibility until it reaches us so please post securely.
Return Postage Costs: Unlike any other vintage clothing seller online or any online shop such as Topman we offer free UK economy postage on all items, though once again we must stress the importance of adding our discounted tracked postage. The item cost includes postage, packing and courier collection costs and therefore -we do not pay return postage costs in any circumstances- unless we have sent you the wrong item in a highly rare order mixup. We do not refund any further postage, packing or 'time' return costs. As mentioned above sizing and condition are all subjective hence why we're quibble free but if you imagine this situation being a problem please do not buy from us. Despite this policy if you were a conscientiousness eBayer and paid for recorded (Which we cannot stress enough is important) we refund this original cost upon return -and- this also applies to international orders. Unlike other eBay sellers we do not deduct a percentage of your item cost as a ‘relisting fee’.
LEGAL STUFF: We include the below for the small minority of buyers who disagree with the above paragraphs exceptions and attempt to use Trading Standards as a somewhat misinformed threat. As a seller of second-hand goods we are actually under no obligation to pay any return costs or give quibble-free refunds for some of the common reasons given, but we do because we would rather have happy and informed buyers. In the event of that buyers attempt to attain additional costs for postage, other than our original postage costs, we reserve the right to refund item cost only.
Trading Standards : Sellers Rights For Second-Hand Goods
You will not have any rights against the seller in the following circumstances:
-You were told about the fault, but decided to purchase the goods anyway;
-You simply changed your mind about the goods, for example, because they did not fit or the colour was wrong;
-You damaged the item yourself by misuse or accident;
-Where fault arises from fair wear and tear;
-You made a mistake when purchasing the item;
-You did not try the item on before purchasing,

CANCELLATIONS: The right to purchase will be withdrawn under these circumstances
-Buyers with negative feedback comments are not permitted to bid or buy.
-Buyers under 50+ feedback must get in contact before bidding or buying.

-Sellers of items similar to our are not allowed to bid or buy.
-Buyers asking to post to an alternative address are not allowed to bid or buy.
-Buyers who do not read clearly listed information or use inappropriate language will have their right to purchase withdrawn.
