~Vintage BULOVA SUPER COMPRESSOR Watch~Dive~DIVER~666ft
For auction is a rare and spectacular vintage 1962 mens Bulova Super Compressor divers watch. This rare gem is all original, serviced and ready to wear and enjoy!
The case is a genuine EPSA Super Compressor single crown style divers case, with screw in back. The single crown version is considerably harder to find than the dual crown version. This one measures 37mm wide, with lugs that take a 19mm strap. This one comes with it's extremely rare original plastic bezel. These are fragile and are most often broken and missing. The bezel is tight, but it turns in both directions. Original oversized signed Bulova crown. The dial is the original black dial with lume hour markers. It is in decent condition, showing patina that gives it that classic 'tropic' look. The crystal is the original thick and high domed acrylic crystal in good condition. No chips or cracks, but there is mild crazing evident when the light hits it right. The hands are the original lume filled white pointy tipped hands. The lume is aged, but again, they're original. The movement is the robust caliber 11AFAC automatic. Recently serviced (9/25/2010), it is running strong and keeping time. The strap is a gently used Modena vintage tropic style rubber strap that compliments it perfectly. The case is date coded M1 for 1961, and the movement M2 for 1962. I'm assuming this was put together in early 1962. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the hardest to find vintage Bulova divers, bid to win!
