Sleepwear & Robes
Listed Item Child's Nightdress.
I believe this is early 1900s and is made from a very soft cotton and all hand sewn as far as can be seen, in tiny neat stitches. There is a pleated double hem with a thin lace trim and a bottom netted lace trim, giving the effect of layering. I can only find a tiny hole in the lace and a stain on the neckline which looks like a rusty brown mark and a tiny dusty mark on the back but any wear is commensurate with its age and use, saying that it is in a nice condition for its age.It could be used as a nightdress but may also be an under garment that was soft to stop chafing from heavy outer garments.
The buttons looker newer and would have probably replaced the older metal type that were covered in cotton. The size age is a guess at around 3 years but could be younger or older depending on the size of the child so better to judge by measurements if wanting to be worn, otherwise it is a nice collectable item for lovers of vintage wear.
The length from the back is 28 inch, across the chest is 15x2 inch
Please make sure it is the correct size for you before bidding.
Payment is requested by no later than 3 days so dispatch can be made more easily and efficiently, non payers are reported to Ebay but if you have any problems with payment please contact me straight away. If you are wanting to bid on more than one item so so long as it/they are no more than 4 days apart that's fine, any more than that please contact me first as a courtesy.
Please email if you require any more measurements or information.
Please remember this is a used item that is listed.
Please make sure you are happy with this item and description before bidding, I list as accurately as I can but you are welcome to email with any questions to avoid any problems later.**
Postage is 2ND CLASS RECORDED (up to 250g) at £2.27 and 50p packaging, printing and transport of all items. If I get it wrong I will refund the difference. Please be aware Royal Mail increase their prices, 2 April,2013.
To help keep costs down, I mainly use 2nd class, which is 3-5 working days, unless items are over 1kg and therefore must go 1st class or standard parcel. I do not use other services.
Please also make email enquiries for shipping to Europe and overseas postage before bidding as postage must include International Signed For which costs £5.30 in addition to the the airmail postage cost, please consider this before bidding and ask for a total p&p cost. I have had to do this after parcels that have been reported as not received.
*Important -Please Note*
Are you happy with the p&p charge before you bid? Do you wish to bid on more than one item? If so, please let me know before hand. I do combine p&p for similar and 'suitable' items but items are carefully wrapped for dispatch. I am not a business and have to purchase the majority of packing materials, occasionally using some recycled items to help the environment but try to be fair with costs and would appreciate that you understand this and give a fair response..* In the event you are not happy with my prices I would ask you consider this before you actually bid and not then leave negative or low ratings because you are unhappy or disappointed as I have given my p&p breakdown and want you to feel happy about your bid, therefore I would be grateful if you can make your judgement beforehand, if you are then happy with all the details, it is better for everyone and I wish you all the best.
I will leave feedback as and when payment is made and would like bidders to do like wise, I allow up to 3 days for payment but will remind any buyer before the date is due but would appreciate an email first before leaving any neutral or negative feedback ratings or if there are any other problems.
Thankyou for looking and Happy Bidding.
