Over the past 25 years I have collected items like a squirrel with no particular theme other than I have an interest in military items & small vintage collects items. Sadly due to other collecting interests the time has come to offer some of the gems from my collection for sale to you. Most items are fresh to the market having been purchased over the years direct from deceased estates and a network of contacts in the antique and house clearance trade in county Durham. I hope you enjoy my offerings and good luck to all bidders.

A very nice 100% genuine.W.W.1 Bronze memorial / Death plaque to-HUGH CECIL MOXON.

Second Lieutenant Hugh Cecil Moxon was serving with the 5th battalion of the Bedfordshire regiment (attached to the 8th battalion) when he died of wounds in france & flanders 19-7-1917

He is buried in the Bethune town cemetery in flanders & is recorded as the late 20 year old son of the late Reverend E.A.Moxon Vicar of All Saints, Newmarket & of Maud.Moxon of oak cottage, Great Shelford, Cambs

The recipients casualty form (active service states he was attached to the 8th Bedfords 24-10-1916, wounded to the head (gunshot 19-7-17) & died of wounds at the 33rd casualty clearing station at 11.15pm the same day

The plaque is in mint condition and has a fantastic chocolate brown patina as issued

I have decided that in the spirit of e-bay I will be starting all my offerings at 99p with no reserve

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance whilst the sale is in progress

Please note to be fair to all buyers I do not offer buy it now on any of my offerings

I am always happy to work out postal discounts if the buyer purchases more than one of my lots

Please see all the pictures for more details as these are considered to be part of the description

Please also note I have had to slightly increase my postal prices since royal mail made price rises in April 2013 as such I am offering more options for postage but if you opt for a cheap slow option from royal mail please understand I am not able to speed up the process & whilst I always post within 48 hours of payment I am then in the hands of royal mail.
