Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Issue

This is an extremely rare, excellent pair of type CF25 binoculars, not to be confused with the more common CF41. Carried by the British Royal Naval fleet air arm and carried by observors in Fairy Swordfish, and coastal command Short Sunderland flying boats, there slightly more compact design making them easier to use within the confines of an aircraft. They were mainly used for reconnasance use during WW2 also in the immediate post war period. Of particular use in Low Light conditions, because of the configuration of the Porro 11 Prisms. This fine pair, are in good condition, with standard twin turrets, the left shoulder inscribed Barr & Stroud 7X CF25 Glasgow & London, and the right inscribed AP No 1949 Serial No 35087" and the British War Office broad arrow or crow foot. The magnification is 7 X . The pattern AP No 1949, was made from 1931. The black finish is in good condition, the 4 Way filters index correctly, and the optics return clear sharp imaging with correctly aligned(collimated) prisms. There are originally yellow painted, Admiralty arrows to the main body, and individual eye focusing. The original fine quality, brown leather carrying case sound leather hinged lid, with carrying handle, and an original leather shoulder strap.Dont miss out on this superb piece of Naval history to use or as a wonderful collectors item.
