'Animate' Ruby, Topaz and Emerald dog coats -
the ultimate in canine luxury!
For a couple of years we've been selling the best dog life jackets on the internet.
We decided to go in search of the very best dog weather coats we could find -
and we found these absolutely sensational coats!
The above photo shows the 'Animate' Ruby (wine colour over black), Topaz (sky blue over black) and
Emerald (emerald green over emerald green) coats. The inset photo (top right) shows the collar folded down.
Manufactured in a soft-touch, fully-padded material, 'Animate' Ruby, Topaz and Emerald coats are designed to take care of the welfare of your dog - being waterproof, rainproof, weatherproof, windproof, reflective and moisture-permeable.
The outer material is manufactured from 100% 'Breathe-time' nylon. The jacket's insulating padding is 100% polyester filament, whilst the soft inner lining is 100% cotton/polyester. Should the inner lining become wet, it can be dried out far faster than an equivalent fleece lining.'Animate' coats can be wipe-cleaned using a damp cloth and are all fully machine washable.
The 'Breathe-time' fabric used in 'Animate' coats is produced using hi-tech processes to achieve water and wind resistance (to keep adverse weather out) together with high moisture permeability (to let the dog's natural vapour out) whilst maintaining a cosy, soft-touch feeling, ensuring the jacket is not only extremely purposeful but also very comfortable to wear. 'Breathe-time' also maintains the animal's natural body temperature whilst performing outdoor activities; with exterior temperatures ranging anywhere between the extremes of -20 degrees to +45 degrees the 'Breathe-time' fabric will maintain a pleasing temperature for your dog.
For on-going security, on the inside of each coat is stitched a discreet 'owner' label.
Every 'Animate' coat is supplied in its own PVC zip and handled bag - great for storing the coat when not in use.
To fit these coats, firstly the coat is slipped over the dog's head and laid loosely along the back. Hook one of the elasticated loops around each rear leg.
The under-body panel of the coat is pushed between the dog's front legs (the photo below shows the under-body panel hanging free, before being pushed through the dog's legs); the two fastening velcro-covered panels are then flapped up and over the dog's back and joined together. Fitting the coat isn't nearly as complicated as it sounds when described here - in reality it will take just a few seconds!
The elasticated neck opening enables the coat to be easily slipped over your dog's head whilst offering an effective seal against adverse weather conditions.
The collar flap on these 'Animate' coats can be worn up (offering additional protection from wind and rain) or down and incorporates a tailored slit through which a lead can be readily led.
Our labrador Phoebe models the 24 inch (60 cms) Topaz coat.
Besides the reflective quality of the 'Animate' coat's fabric, visibility is further enhanced by the hi-luminosity reflective tape woven as a detail strip around the edges of the coat. In the photos on this page, it proved difficult to avoid the reflective tape 'flaring' under the studio lighting - just imagine how effective the reflective tape would be when picked up in a pair of car headlights! The photos above show the reflective tape - woven into the pleasingly patterned fabrics - without reflective flare.
To identify the correct size coat for your dog measure from the base of the neck (a little below where you'd normally fit a collar) to the start of the tail; the correct size coat will be the first coat size which is longer than the dog's back.
As the size of the dog increases, so the size of the jacket becomes less critical.
For example, if the dog's back measures 9" (23cms) the only size coat to offer a suitable fit will be the 10" (25cms) size.
However, if the dog's back measures 21" (53cms) the optimum size coat will be the 22" (55cms) size, but the 24" (60cms) size coat will also offer a perfectly acceptable, albeit more generous, fit.
Our labrador looks fine in the 24" (60cms), 26" (65cms) and 28" (70cms) coats - size fitting isn't a precise science!. If you buy the wrong size we'll be happy to exchange it.

The above photos show the three available colour combinations:
Ruby (wine colour over black), Topaz (sky blue over black) and Emerald (emerald green over emerald green).
We try to keep a stock of all the colours in all the sizes and despatch on the day of order - but with such a large range it's inevitable that from time to time we'll run out of a particular combination and need a few days to obtain more stock; if we find ourselves in that situation on your order please bear with us - if you look at our feedback you'll see that we certainly don't keep our customers hanging around!
Our Ruby, Topaz and Emerald coats are the very best coats available in the extensive 'Animate' range of dog coats. You're looking at the best coats your money can buy - and you know your dog is worth it!Size exchange
If you buy the wrong size, the coat can be returned within 7 days of receipt for a size exchange. The returned item must be returned in new condition complete with original tags and packaging. You pay the postage to us and take responsibility for it arriving with us, together with the postage to ship the exchanged coat. We will provide any refund difference (which will be in pounds sterling) when we mail the exchange item. Please don't send it back with evidence of dog hairs (to keep the dog hairs away, place a sheet of paper under the coat until you're sure you're keeping it).

Please, no laughing at the model used on this page! We started out trying to photograph all the coats on our 'real' labrador Phoebe, but it was taking forever and we were getting nowhere (never work with children or animals!) so we reverted to a model. By the way, if it helps you assess coat sizes the (artificial) model - about the size of a large spaniel - is wearing a 22" (55cms) coat.
