This isn’t a book containing photographs of professional

models in ideal settings with lots of time to set them up.

All the photographs in this book were taken at weddings

covered by the author.  In his typical down to earth and

easy to understand style of writing he give you lots of examples

together with all the basic posing rules and lots of advice.

This is the third book by the author, all written to help the

beginner to wedding photography learn his or her trade.

They have sold throughout the world and have received

excellent reviews and many positive comments.

Review by Stephen Sinfield. THE BURTON MAIL

THIS is the latest and third installment by

wedding photographer Richard Potter.

Compared to his wedding day routine guide

reviewed above, this book is noticeable more

colourful with loads of images — hence the

higher price tag.

As the title suggests the guide explains how

your subjects should be positioned to guarantee

the best shots.

The language is slightly more technical with

references to the use of radial blur, but anyone

reading will no doubt be a budding photographer

or photo editor to whom these phrases will be

common knowledge.

There are some very sneaky tips revealed in

this guide. Particularly with regards to beating

the ‘no photographs’ rule at many registry office

Advances in technology and the allowance of

video cameras now means that you can generate

still images from your video camera without

anyone noticing as there is no shutter click and

no blinding flash.

This is a very open and honest book with the

author revealing tricks of the trade — how

images are edited or stitched together using

photo editing software to create stunning results.

The final package of wedding photographs is

also discussed in this guide with how certain

images are taken so that they can be used as the

backdrop on pages in the finished album.

If, like me, you have viewed all three of the

books in this series then you will notice the

repetition of certain images. However, the advice

is always new and whereby the photograph may

have been used as an example in one guide it is

used for a different purpose in other guides.

Overall the book is a good addition to the series

and the extensive use of examples certainly

gives you plenty of ideas.
