Vtg Bespoke Jones Chalk & Dawson Tweed Wool Suit. Dated 1956.

One of a collection of quality tweeds belonging to Sir Robert Black Bt. Excellent two piece in premium dense yet soft wool. Careful hand stitching, silk backed interior linings, horn buttons, every detail shows attention and quality workmanship. The trousers have a two button hidden waist closure with a five button fly each with its own individual button protector pocket. Six buttons for braces a small split 'V' mark the waistband. Buttoned back pocket and two darts give shape to the back of the trousers. Turn up hand tacked cuffs. Turqoise and yellow dyed wool woven softly but with a flat textured look and feel. Angled chest pocket on the jacket with two flap pockets, silk lined sleeves with working three bone button cuffs. Three Horn buttons to close. Lapel button hole. Small button across collar elastic for storm guard. Collar is fine wool backed. Silk lining with two internal chest pockets. Condition overall is very good and having been recently dry-cleaned, clean. There are some minor repairs to the interior lining of the jacket at the neck/collar, very slight bobbling at the underarm and a careful, small hand repair just above the rear single vent, all very minor and prety much unseen. Pictured on a 40" Mannequin and clearly too large, please check the detailed measurements below.

Measurements and Size:
Shoulder to Shoulder: 19.25". Underarm to Underarm: 25.50". Neck to Hem: 31.50". Shoulder to Cuff: 25.50". Waist: 22" This reveals a maximum exterior waist of 44inches, however given the nature of the trousers and how they would be worn our opinion is these will ideally fit a 38 to 42 waist. . Inseam: 30". Outseam: 43.25". Opinions on size vary so we would always advise comparing these external measurements, (taken with the item laid flat and gently pulled to shape), with a similar piece of clothing you already have.
