TY270 twinshock/trickshock, recently rebuilt and ready to ride. The bike is based on a TY250 mono, and was originally built by Jon Bliss, incorporating a very special under-seat large volume exhaust which greatly improves the rather lethargic power output of the TY250 motors! Has new Mk5 Falcon shocks, which provide rear suspension action very close to that of the 38mm Sherco front forks.
This bike has bulletproof reliability, and while not being quite as competitive as a £7K + Whitlock Majesty, it has been ridden to ACU classic series wins in the past, so is certainly good enough for most club level competition here in the UK.
To add a bit more background info on this bike, it was built by Jon following a close examination of a similar machine (pictured), which was ridden regularly over several years with great success in twinshock club events around the Bristol/Bath area. Essentially the bike performs about the same as well put together 200 Fantic, and its only real advantages over an original TS is its reliability, and very easily available inexpensive parts.
Please contact Chris on 07761 971756 for further information on this bike, but if you are interested in converting your own TY mono to TS, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Price denoted here, is higher than advertised elsewhere to cover Ebay fees etc. The seat on bike was only placed on for the photos, and as you can see is not properly fitted.
If you are interested in the idea of a cheap and reliable TS bike, then please feel free to contact us as depending on level of interest we may be providing a free download of full instructions of how to go about doing one of these bikes, and other than the welding work, all thats required are hacksaw, file, angle grinder, 2x rear shocks, materials, and some basic understanding of very simple metalwork!
