OK so this is my baby / beast. I absolutely love this and I should given the amount of money I've spent making her one of the best you will find anywhere. I'm only selling due to ill health. It breaks my heart but it needs to go to someone that will use her and take good care of her. This is my last bike to sell from a small collection, so you can see that I really don't want her to go but it's inevitable.
She is so great and easy to ride I can sit on her all day and still walk to the bar for a beer and not look like John Wayne! I have a special bike tent in my garage that blows cool air over the bike to remove any dampness etc so she is kept in tip top condition even when not being ridden. My mates own IP Performance and they have worked on her for the past 5 years or so. It make a nice change for them from the usual race bikes.
I have had every inch of chrome re-done, even had the engine split and rechromed. It has so many custom parts fitted I will probably not list them all. you will probably notice a couple of things immediately:
- it has the proper wheels for this type of machine; chrome spokes on alloy rims
- Jardine slash cut pipes, sound awesome but not too loud to offend
- Engine has been re-jetted so runs like a dream, you wouldn't believe how torky these are.
- Mapam forward controls, polished and chromed including rear pegs
- Kuryakyn Zombie mirrors, not everyone's cup of tea but they get noticed!
- Chrome and leather grips
- Leather saddle bags
- Cruising screen, not currently on the bike but will be sold with it
- All indicator lenses have been changed to clear with amber bulbs, just makes it look more modern
- comes with private 'pig' plate
- Small chrome rear luggage rack
- Leather tool roll on front forks
No leaks, drips or wobbles [other than me]. Nothing is lose or needs doing. It really draws a crowd when parked up and all of this on a relative shoe string compared to newer bikes.
And yes, it beats most HOGS from the lights and it never lets you down if you know what I mean. Easily gets to 60 in under 4 secs and I had it do 110 but without a screen it's a little tough going.
This is from 1998, so please don't expect it to be perfect. Most folk say it's mint, but that's there view. Mine is that the coil could do with touching up and there might be a couple of very minor marks; not that you'd notice.
But this bikes is really meant for cruising the strip or touring. It will easily cope with motorway speeds all day. I used to regularly pack a tent on the back and head off into the hills for long weekends. Two up it's still as good, in fact you generally don't notice her there until you need fuel or she falls asleep! [yes it's happened more than once].
What more can I say other than it's advertised elsewhere and the reserve is £2,500. Come on, make a sad guy even sadder and buy her.
Just noticed: only one previous owner. guy in Benfleet bought it from new in 1998 then it was me in 2008.
The bike is also completely HPI clear as it has never been crashed, scrapped, nicked of financed.
Also have every MOT certificate and lots of bills
ok when cleaning this morning I noticed that there is some minor bubbling under the paint on the front edge of the front mudguard. I had this done a few years back when she was being rebuilt, but clearly it might need doing again in the next couple of years.
