This is an extremely high quality 19th century M.G. Paris, France vanity/ dresser box.
it is a hard case box and has an abundance of intricate detailing throughout.
the box is made from a quality leather wrapped wood which has nicely pressed trim and detailing.
the hardware and edges are made from solid bronze and by moving the piece in the center of the handle locks the box shut.
inside there are many quality vanity pieces which sit in their own leather wrapped compartments.
there are three different styled silver plated bronze jars in the center compartment.
the one to the right is a perfume with a glass stopper and silver plated top,
the one to the left is also glass with a silver-plated lid.
the one in the center is a rectangular jar and is completely made from metal.
all three are hand engraved on the tops with "MG"
the front right is an exquisite spring loaded leather wrapped box with bronze hardware.
it has a glass bottle inside which would be used for an inkwell or eyeliner.
to the left is a long compartment which has a upward tapered leather top and a carved ox bone handle.
the top of the box has a bronze lock which when slid opened it exposes the storage inside.
it has many different compartments for tools.
the box measures 7 3/4 by 5 1/4 inches.
it is in good shape, some light minimal ware to the outer leather.
