After much deliberation I have decided to put my 1962 NC 250 road race project up for sale
Brought by me last year, I've spent quite a bit of cash on this project but unfortunately work circumstances changed several months ago and I've not had any spare cash since. I don't think the work situation will change any time soon so have made the difficult decision to sell

V5 present, 3 owners since 1962' the last one only had it for a year and did no work to it. The bike had obviously been stood for some time.

Crankshaft - sent to Lacey Ducati for inspection - upon strip it was decided that a new conn rod kit was required. Nigel Lacey fitted an Arrow race conn rod kit plus a new sludge trap bung - I have a receipt for this work which cost over £800

Cylinder head - was a regular small valve head - upon Nigel Laceys recommendation, I sent the head to SCR Classics who vapour blasted it, converted it to large valve spec, enlarged the inlet to 32mm complete with matched inlet manifold, fitted new guides and machined the seats to match the supplied Lacey valves - it was also modified to run the Lacey coil spring conversion (supplied with collets) - cost over £800 including parts

Stanchions - original re-hard chromed (£150) - legs polished
Front wheel - new build WM2 x 19" Borrani, polished rim, stainless spokes and polished standard SLS hub (£400)
Rear wheel - requires rebuild
Seat - brand new reproduction 'mach 1' seat (cost £189 from classicducati)
Rearsets - 'classic ducati bevel' from discovolante £186 new
Tank - in original paint (will require respray) undented, whoever packed this bike away all those years ago had the common sense to put paraffin in the tank, so its pretty clean inside
Frame - first registered to 'John Surtees Ltd' in 1962 - I've modified the frame to add a steering damper (just tacked on) outrigger supports to gain additional bracing from the longer WC swingarm pin + the swingarm has webbing added at the wheel end for additional strength
Barrel - standard size  I was going to rebore it to +0.5mm and have brought a new Omega piston kit to match (£200 new)
2 x 4 speed gearboxes
most, if not all of the engine components, including crankcases, all ally parts polished.
Various new seals, bearings, cables engine mounts etc etc etc


As you can see, I've spent quite a bit, certainly more than the listing price, and there is many things I haven't listed

Alternatively you can buy the whole job lot - I will not accept Paypal - it will be cash on collection
Price is negotiable
To finish, the engine will need assembly (requires about £50 of bearings, thats all) new rear shocks, rear wheel rebuild, carb, silencer + paint.
