Up for auction is this incredible late 1930's / early 1940's vintage chalk stripe flannel suit.
Almost too good to be true! This gorgeous two piece suit has a striking two-tone chalk stripe on heavy weight, muted navy wool. The fabric is a soft flannel - a very tight tolex weave with a beautiful blue and white stripe. Terminally 30's with a pronounced rolled lapel, heavily structured shoulders, wasp waist and a ventless back.
Very rare and certifiably trend-proof - an absolutely perfect depression era flavor. Get this one before the costume design department at Boardwalk Empire snaps it up!
Condition is VERY VERY GOOD! No stains, tears or odors, with the exception of a small bite/hole on the left sleeve, shown in the last photo. Otherwise showing very minimal vintage wear. Colors are bright, all stitching is intact - beautiful!
