Our View

This is one our favourite boats - for touring or intermediate paddlers. It is relatively long and thin, is good at going in a straight line and has considerable luggage carrying capacity. It is very popular with our instructors due to it's speed.

The Scupper Pro is one of the long time Ocean Kayak favourites. At over 14' long this sleek kayak is perfect for small to medium build paddlers looking to get performance in a touring style sit-on-top. The Scupper Pro features a large bow hatch and a roomy tank well. This kayak is a great choice for touring or kayak fishing.

This boat (any many others) is available to try free at our base on Derwentwater.

We have 3 boats available, one has been used as part of our fleet - as a demo boat and by our instructors and is in very good condition. The other 2 are new in packaging.

RRP is £599

The used boat is £440 complete with a backrest. The black bungee has been taken off this boat for hire and is available to replace on the boat if it is required.

The New boats are £499 during our sale, complete with a backrest.

Ex-hire paddles are available for £18 each, and you get 20% of any other items you buy - buoyancy aids, better paddles, wetsuits, cag's...

These boats are very durable with their tough polyethylene construction and are virtually maintenance free.

Payment

Our preferred method of payment is a telephone credit card transaction. However we will also accept cheque, PayPal, bank transfers and if you are collecting the item cash.

Problems?

If you have any problems please give us a call to discuss them - we are open 7 days a week from at least 9am - 5pm (in winter) to 8am to 8pm at the height of summer. For posted items, we will accept returns for any reason for 21days from the day of dispatch (assuming it is in its original condition) - we would appreciate a call before you return the item so we can watch out for it and arrange a refund ASAP. Outwith this period please give us a ring and we will do what we can. Refunds will be processed within 1 working day of the item being returned to us. Returns can only be accepted if the item is in the original condition, unless an item is faulty we will not normally pay P&P costs for you to return the item to us. We recommend that you use a tracked delivery service to return the item.

For larger second hand items (i.e. ex hire boats) we prefer that the item is collected by you so that you can trial the item and give it a thorough examination, simply because the delivery costs involved in sending out and returning these items can work out expensive for both of us. If we deliver a boat in person again we prefer that someone is available to examine it on collection - because if you are not happy it is simpler for all involved for us to take it away again. (We try to describe boats accurately for this reason, and so far have never had an ex-hire or demo boat returned - although very occasionally we may need to send out a replacement bung or other small fitting) All discounted ex display, ex-demo and ex hire boats come into this category. Regardless of this policy we want you to be happy with your purchase and if you have any issues let us know and we will help if we can. New boats can be dispatched straight from the manufacturer and in these cases we offer refunds as per posted items above.

Smaller second hand items that are sent via courier have the same return policy as new items.

Collection / Delivery

Smaller items are sent out first class recorded, or if you are in a hurry by special delivery.

We allow a 2-3 week period for people to collect their boats, or can arrange delivery. Engines and inflatable’s can be dispatched via courier and this will be charged at cost. Second Hand Canoes and Kayaks are not suitable for courier (due to size and weight making it cost prohibitive - often over £100) but we can deliver ourselves to a restricted area (This is done on our days off, and so we require a little flexibility).

Nichol End Marine

Is based on the North Western shores of Derwentwater in the English Lake District (very near Keswick and 19 miles from the M6).We offer boat hire and qualified tuition, a full chandlery, workshop facilities (for wood, GRP and Engines), a Cafe (with famous scones –must be tried!) and Keswick Launch calls regularly. We also have moorings available. We are open 7 days a week, everyday apart from Christmas day - please give us a ring on 017687 73082 if you have any queries. We are about 20miles west of the M6 on the A66,turn of the A66 at Portinscale then follow the brown signs through the village to Nichol End (about 1/2 mile after Portinscale village on the left hand side)Please do not use sat nav as the postcode area is very large and many people get lost.
