The Artful Bodger's Waste Oil Iron Casting Furnace

This book describes how to build and operate this very versatile waste oil furnace, built mainly out of scrap you should find laying around. It will allow you to melt from aluminium to cast iron for the cost of the few pence of electricity for the blower, or it can be used as a vertical forge. The fuel is waste oil, used cooking oil or used engine oil. It is capable of melting up to 60 lbs. of cast iron in a crucible when built to the size described in the book, or more if it is built larger. Many metals can be melted directly in the furnace and tapped into a homemade ladle (unfortunatly not cast iron) , also you can make your own cast iron crucibles for almost free, this is all described in the book.
