Brilliant film with totally believable characters. The portrayal... of mindless bureaucracy at its most jobsworthy is frighteningly real and so sad. Where's the room for compassion and common sense in the tragic responses of the authorities? The dignity shown by the lead characters provides a startling contrast.

Great film of Ken Loach. Well worth the cash if you are... politicially aware. Shows just how bad the system is nowadays in the UK. Always new actors taht will soon be on everyones lips. Winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, the latest from legendary director Ken Loach is a gripping, human tale about the impact one man can make. Gruff but goodhearted, Daniel Blake (Dave Johns) is a man out of time: a widowed woodworker who's never owned a computer, he lives according to his own common sense moral code. But after a heart attack leaves him unable to work and the state welfare system fails him, the stubbornly self-reliant Daniel must stand up and fight for his dignity, leading a one-man crusade for compassion that will transform the lives of a struggling single mother (Hayley Squires) and her two children. Graced with humor and heart, I, Daniel Blake is a moving, much-needed reminder of the power of empathy from one of the world's greatest living filmmakers.

very true to life drama. based on the way disabled and vu...lnerable people are treated, by the government cuts to benefits. it follows a man who is driven, to sell his household goods. just to be able to live and also a woman a her children struggling to live due to sanctions. it has a good story line and a very sad ending. well worth watching. not all disabled people are benefit cheats. some disabilities are not visible and people are wrong to judge. just like the people in this movie, who work for the jobcentre/dwp etc

The story is not a happy one but it is a true story of ...many who find themselves in this situation Systems expected expectations of all persons should not always be seen as being the norm for people are different, so their situations are different ones too. The inflexibility of our modern system to make allowances is seen by those in charge as being only the fault of the person themselves and not that the system should make allowances to cope and be more flexible. Daniel Blake is seen as being only a Square peg in a round hole" an idiomatic expression which describes the unusual individualist who could not fit into a niche in our modern societies rules . Rules should be for guidance but in our modern world they have become the rule made by the inflexible to be obeyed by all no matter what. This is a film of the infallibility of those in charge to understand the simple fact that not all people are the same. I Daniel Blake is a film we should all see , if only to be able to understand one simple fact .. A Square peg will not fit in a round hole unless one destroys the peg

This is truly great film. Focusing on the frustra...tions of modern life, that many of us encounter every single day. Drawing from factual events and genuine circumstances. The sad thing is that this is Britain today, this is "the system" in a developed nation, one of the richest economies in the world. We STILL treat the under privileged, in this case the working man, albeit a man unable to work due to ill health in a disgraceful manner. In many ways we should be ashamed of ourselves. Don't expect to come away from this movie feeling good, but do expect to feel emotion, real emotion. Be prepared to weep.
