Manufactured between 2001-2006 by a Marantz manufacturing partner in the far east. Cost new in 2005 £280 Smooth as silk sound that if partnered with high sensitivity speakers, above 90db, then this amp is a joy to own. If you like it loud then look else where, If pushed hard in Class A then the amp gets flustered and distorts. Class B is the usual budget Class B amplifier, it makes a sound but nothing to write home about. Value for a good example £120-£150 A well used example £50-£75

Brought this amp manly for tone controls [ bass treble ] as well as it being in the right colour [ gold ] to go with my sony es range [cd and mini disc ]and to replace my 6010 ki sig.[ no tone controls ].Had read some reviews at how good it was and thought i'll give it a go. To my surprise it sounded better than i had hoped for. Such a warm and full on sound in class A. and very rich and brite in standed. When it comes to the turntable [linn sondek LP12 ]it's very empressive even with a bog standed MM cartridge. What more can i say but excellent.
Superb amplifier from Marantz, phono input, class a, ab etc , not dissapointed.

The amp arrived in nearly new cosmetic condition. All functions seem to work. Handset included. The sound is superior to the amp it replaces. I was surprised by the size of it (had to modify rack to get it in) but I guess it is 'of its time'.
