Reliable for sure, although slow as cold molasses & had the equivalent of 350,000 miles on the drive (nearly 9 years usage). Small cache by today's standard, move up to the RE4 for 64MB (4x faster than this model). Not worth buying in 2018, unless you're stuck with a SATA-1 computer & can't take advantage of the RE4 (SATA-2). As my review states, it's OK for an older computer. NOT for anyone who needs speed, unless running several in some type of RAID configuration. Don't try this with the ports on a MB, a reliable brand RAID card is needed for this operation. Making the RE4 all the more better choice if going this route. My last RE3 HDD was purchased in 2012, although running today, unbearably slow for my needs. Has to install a SSD & make the RE3 a data drive. Don't waste your money on these!Read full review

It seems to be especially good in the time I have used it. Once I got my OS installed it did what hd do.

It's a great hard drive, reasonably priced and surely reliable. I bought it for an old Dell PC as an addition to its own 250GB Seagate Barracuda. So far everything works very well, and I bet it will last for quite some time.
As advertised very happy with this purchase
