The 1st Generation as you all know is Apple's baby. My honest opinion, one thing first is it's slim line feel I will give it 5/5 the reason over the years I have had a lot of mobile phones a lot of them could have designed them better my son now call's them brick's. I phone made them slim right from the start nice feel nice looking and nice screen size. Second thing it is easy too use a simple press on the top and the whole thing comes alive and its screen is like a mini touch screen computer nice. Next the phone it's self is very good all you do is touch the phone icon and it is a phone and tap the number in and of it go's nice. As you can see its more then a phone you can now send emails, message's and lots more. take photo's it will even play mp3 music. It can be a simple calculator or a tv. all this in one slim box. It's a phone well worth having if you like good gadgets and one more thing the battery life is excellent. Now the price for a 4 year old phone as it is now in the year 2011 as this review as been written. I would say £40 - £60 is a fare price any more than that you are wasting your money like I say it's old and you would be better putting your money towards a new I phone 4s. This is my honest opinion it's up to you the one who wishes to buy a phone.
I own the 8gb version and what a phone, sure it isn't as smooth and luxurious as the iphone 4 but its much cheaper and most importantly, its original. The camera only being 2 mega pixels still creates an incredible well contrasted image. Compared to the new iphones the battery wont last as long when used for long term gaming with loudspeaker on as the newer phones have incredible battery life, yet the gaming problem can be solved with a usb power cable hooked up to it to keep a flow of constant energy. Other features such as the built in gyro which rotates the screen to landscape when you turn the phone is impressive technology and works with most games which improves the gaming experience. the 3.5 inch touch screen is ultra responsive yet delicate if sat on or dropped! The 8gb memory is just enough for some great games like nova e.t.c and still space for music and photos. Though this phone is superior to the latest models i have never owned a 3g, 3gs or iphone 4 so i cant be 100% accurate with my review but from someone who has never owned one of the newer models this is my personal opinion, what an excellent little classic phone which i would recommend to anyone as this phone is 100% quality!
Ive owned 3 iphones 2g 8gb, 3g 16gb and the 3gs 32gb
I broke my 2g :( But the 3g's were awsome phones, i just got abit guilty for owning such expensive phones and not using them as often as i should.
The money could go towards better things, like a cheap car for instance lol
But no matter what phone bought for around £100 it was no substitute for what was missing, so i would say the 2g at around this price...if you can find a good one, is ideal. Just an awsome phone with enough packed into it to still satisfy anyone who doesnt have the money for a 4g or older 3g's.
I bought this as I had wanted an iphone for some time but have been unable to afford one. I still cant afford the latest top of the range iphone but this first generation iphone became available at what I think was a reasonable price so i bought it. I love the wifi internet, the calender, the ipod, the camera anf email facilities. it has an excellent charger that allows to charge from plug socket and computer usb. Im not so impressed by the fact that because its a first generation they will no longer allow older iphones to have the updates to downlaod all the iphone apps you see advertised so i still can have all the advantages of having an iphone. its a wonderful and better than most other phones on the market but it still has been well surpassed by its replacement iphone models.
Seriously flawed because you cannot use the common apps such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp. etc because the software's too old. A irritating fact about Apple who clearly understand that they will make more money by forcing people to upgrade to iPhone 4 (as the problem is the same in 3G also). Also there is no ability send picture messages, no record video.
But apart from this, this iphone is very similar to all other iphones, except perhaps a little slower and not as great battery... but this is not that noticeable.
My feeling is that iphone was a great product when it was released, and Apple have capitalised on this by releasing constant upgrades that have academic improvements that are not necessary.
But if you just want to text, surf the web, and send emails, and make calls.. it is a great product, and you can pick them up very cheaply, and might work out a better deal then buying an old Nokia.
This product (iPhone 2G) is an amazing phone, does everything that you want a phone to do plus much more! I have an iPhone 4 aswell, but this product i feel; is so much cooler. Only thing is if you want all the new features of the new apple products, then this is not the iPhone for you, you can only upgrade to firmware 3.1.3 so in that sense your a little restricted (apps, etc), but its a smashing product and i love it! :)
very good phone! easy to use, and is great as an ipod. Once the iphone is unlocked you can use any network and the apps are brilliant. i have got the video camera app and it works a treat, not the best quality but it does the job.
very good phone but 1g can be laggy at times but very good
im am accustomed to the iphone's controls and settings
and i also love haveing touch screen phones makes texting
and typing numbers ALOT easyier
Hi! After the phone Blackberry 9500 decided to touch the legendary Apple 2G impressions:
1. After three weeks of travel from Great Britain to Russia Siberia phone still worked!
2. Housing-clean aluminum (nice).
3. After setting of wealth bleckberry Apple phone is boring, just a toy.
4. This is an old phone but it works perfectly well, installation SIM card and everything!
Thank you for inexpensive and good iPhone!
1st Generation of Apple iPhone, the best smartphone of that period. Like the 2nd generation of iPhone, iPhone 3G, it was Steve Job's concept of design and performance/components.
As a minus, this phone doesn't have any GPS support like iPhone 3G, 3G S, 4, etc.
