I originally bought the iPhone 3G because of all the hype surrounding it regarding how brilliant it was, unfortunately I was left disappointed. The phone itself was very easy to use, it had a smooth operating touch screen system which was unmatched for its time and was very useful with regards to the apps it featured however I only really wanted it for a decent internet on the go with a decent picture and even though I could get that using my SIM card, I found that the Wi-Fi just wouldn't work. After nearly 14 hours of research and constant trying I found that 1 in 5 iPhones sold have this problem, yet I have more than 30 Glofiish X650 phones and every single one of them connect to the Wi-Fi without any problems. You would think for the cost and with all of Apple's "experts" that their phones wouldn't have this problem, or maybe it's an intentional design flaw to keep people buying, either way I won't be upgrading any time soon with any other they bring out, I'm looking at getting a Samsung next...
I decided to buy this product mainly because I was interested in a device that would allow me to play music and serve as a phone at the same time. As I only have a Mac at home, buying other sort of cellphone would mean being unable to organise my music in the playlists I've already set up on iTunes. I also got a good deal on it being second hand, so it was value for money and I'm very pleased about it. I've been able to carry around my music, pictures, videos, a really useful shopping list, a toy 'camera'... the possibilities are endless and very exciting.
On the other hand I'm giving it a "Poor" because I'm outraged about the fact this device stays connected to the internet 24/7 via 3G and THERE'S LITERALLY NO WAY OF TURNING THE 3G OFF. This means that I top up my pay as you go credit and the next day I receive several messages saying I got less and less credit left, without having made ANY calls or having sent any texts at all. It's just the 3G sucking up money while the phone is idle. So I'm not impressed, it's almost evil.
I'm not sure if this is iPhone's or my carrier's responsibility but I truly feel they're completely taking the mickey out of users. I have wifi at home and the phone connects to this wifi only when being used, BUT when idle, it randomly connects over and over again via 3G, draining the credit without me noticing it or being able to stop it. Just appalling.
Not wanting to be left behind in the advancment of phones I scanned the site for a number of weeks before buying my first Iphone from firstname.lastname@example.org who states that her name is Susan Remy; BEWARE its not her name its Marie Burke from Glasgow. DO NOT BUTY FROM THIS EMAIL ADDRESS- I paid £271.00 for a water damaged Iphone which was returned as agreed only for Ms Burke to disappear and me losing my money. Again the site to steer well clear of is siie01 & email@example.com and poor old Susan Remy I wonder if she knows what this woman is doing to her?
On a positive note I went to the Carphone warehouse who couldn't be more helpful and got a FREE Iphone on a contract at £30 per month at a £1 a day for no grief I wished I had do this in the first place.Like the other reviews it really is a great phone beside the battery life but I charge each night anyway so its not that bad- I would highly recommend one.
Ebay is a great tool but Be very wary of what you buy from whom!!
Looks great, real good fun using the touch screen all until you need to use it as a phone! iphone a big clue in the name!! Great if your absolutely still other than that useless. Constantly searching for network then no network even when the outdated mobile phone has full signal. The most frustrating phone i've ever owned bearing in mind that only lasted four days back to the tried and tested sony... I love my sony, to talk to people and everything.
arrived blocked , useless expensive paper weight !!!. what a waste of money . buying unlocked seems to be a wast of money , my sons spend's more time searching for the net work than it does connected.so many problems with these unlocked phone .is it worth the risk ??? personally...... no it's not
This phone is a very poor replication of the original Apple iPhone. It is slow to use and the touch screen is not very sensitive not to mention that it can't actually be used as a phone as It doesn't pick up reception. The phone is unusable and is currently sitting in a drawer doing nothing. It was definately not worth the money paid and was a big disappointment.
i bought this product thinking it was good. Welli soon found out it wasnt the speaker didnt work,i took it apple to repair it and then they tell me, that the back is not an original apple iphone back. So they wouldnt repair it or take it to recycle im not happy at all but im not messing about trying to get my money back i just take it ive been ripped off.
This phone is severely outdated. I purchased this looking for a smartphone that I can access emails via yahoo and gmail, plus social networks, when out and about as I am publicity officer for a theatre company and directing a large prduction. Sadly this phone no longer allows you to install gmail or social network apps as is incompatible with the current Iphone operating system, so only actually functions as a basic phone. I had to send this back.
it was well described but the problem on ebay there r lots of heavy handed people without knowledge who trying to fix iphones.they dont know enything about esd nothing about reading of i2c nothing about oscillators nothing about mobile comunication.then you receive phone which was many times opened buy non professional repair centers then you realize its a huge game about luck.
good advice for those who try to fix please get elecron microscope micro bga welding station mba oven hot air gun multicore flux esd mat oscilloscope, dmm.
and also knowledge.
i am very disappointed with this product. it is some quick making scam. you dont get an iphone but an email with some suspicious link on how to get one, apparently by buying dvds on line but then sending it back????
i will demand my money back.
