An unusual Art Deco oak Mantle Clock with replacement movement. E bay automatically opens an unpaid item case after 48 hours. It appears to be in good working order and a new battery has just been fitted.
A lovely , fully working oak mantel clock . The case dimensions are height 22cm , length 35cm and depth 12.5cm . The dial has the name James Walker Ltd . and under that The London Jeweller stamped on it . Its a silvered dial with Roman numerals and there are a few scratches to it . There is a wooden frieze along the base at the front with what looks like scallop shells and fuchsia flowers alternating . The movement is I think Smiths Empire , it has the stamped globe with a banner across with the word Empire but it doesn't have the Smiths name . It does say Made in England and has the number 31719 . It strikes the hour and the half and will come with a key
Beautiful clock! Good condition it's working but has a slight problem and that is it's running really fast and the hour hand is a bit out of sync/not a big problem just needs a bit of tinkering with/ ive just tested the clock again and can't get it to work! Nothing major
The case has a beautiful colour really striking clock finished off with ormolu acorn finial the case is stunning in colour and design. The case stands on scrolling porcelain feet with scrolling decoration embosed detail working the way up the case to the urn final top.
Here we have a smiths Enfield bimbam striking clock.
I don't know the name of it, but it was made in July 1956.
It strikes the half hour and the hours on 3 brass bars.
Comes with pendulum but no key.
I use a multi key which you can get for a couple of pounds.
It does have a few small marks which is to be expected on a clock of this age.
It will need setting up after transit.
Height....8. 3/4 inches.
AND BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT IT WORKS. IT DOESN'T! IT HAS GOT A KEY (PROBABLY NOT THE ORIGINAL AS IT SAYS 'SMITHS' ON IT) AND ITS PENDULUM, BUT I THINK IT MAY HAVE BEEN OVER-WOUND AS I CANNOT GET IT GOING.

An unusual striking French mantel clock, believed to be circa 1860-1870, in clean working order. This clock was in the collection of my uncle, a skilled clock repairer who died some years ago. I do not have any wider knowledge of its specific maker or history. As can be seen from the photos it has been painted in pastel colours. I assume this to be original, but cannot be sure. The movement, presumed to be 8-day, is clean and bright. The gong does not look original. There is a key with the clock. It was working in our house some years ago but has been stored for 4 years. I have had it running. I'd like it to go to a good home. Will be well packaged and shipped insured.
