Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Series 1-7 - Complete (DVD, 2004, 9-Disc Set)
It's a great show and really well made. My other half loves it and has now threatened to inflict all seven seasons on me (I bought it for her as birthday present). I'm actually looking forward to watching the whole lot start to finish. The show definitely develops over it's seven years and becomes a lot more 'adult' in the final 2 seasons - partly because of a change of TV network and increase in budget according to some of the excellent special features.

Ice Age (DVD, 2006)
This is a truly superb kids movie - but not to be missed by the adults either. I don't recall it causing massive noise in the cinema - which is a shame. For me it's right up there with Shrek. My 7 and 2 year olds both love it but there's enough depth and great one liners in there to keep the adults absorbed as well. I thoroughly recomment it. Plus it must have made an impact on DVD because Ice Age 2: The Meltdown followed and, although not as amusing, was a great watch too.
Nanny McPhee (DVD, 2006)

Nanny McPhee (DVD, 2006)
This is a modern classic - with a feel that matches some of the 1960's greats (I'm thinking Bedknobs & Broomsticks and even Chitty). Obviously it's lacking the musical elements of the comparable films I've mentioned. Emma Thomsons Nanny McPhee is great, warm and mysterious. I thoroughly recommend it - my kids (3 and 7) both love it and I hate to admit it but I do too. Great for the whole family.
