This is an excellent release and a welcome one after all these years. I remember BBC 2 showing this concert back in 1987 as hip hop was at it's peak then. As part of the Def Jam tour that included Eric B & Rakim and Run DMC,this performance captures Public Enemy at their best.The gig is played out at a frenetic pace throughout with audience participation and material from the first two albums 'Yo!Bum Rush The Show' and 'It Takes A Nation Of Millions....' Definitely one of the bands finer hours. This album is packed with tracks including a couple of reworkings of earlier songs "Invasion Of The Dragonmen" & "Nitrous Burnout 2012" from their debut album. The usual blend of Sci-Fi and surf is in abundance but they even manage to succesfully delve into the realms of indie pop with the track "Hong Kong Supanova" which is an addictively simple ditty with So Cal style vocals. Born Dead - Our Darkest Fears Now Haunt Us (2005)
Certainly not as impressive as their EP releases. Although faultess in terms of power and lyrical content the songs tend to suffer from repetition in the long player format. Fans of Aus Rotten and Resist will still lap this up though.
