    These two paintings are watercolours on silk and date from early to the mid-1800s.  They are of Japanese origins and are finely done with the subject being Studies of Inset and Flora.  One depicts a Dragonfly whilst the other a Mantis.  Botha are mong plants. The green silk background has  naturally darkened over age.  Both pieces of Art are in frames and glazed.  Each frame is 51 x 44 cm . This was difficult to photograph to get the shades right The painting area is 27 cm x 25 cm.
