This is a 19th Century Chinese Canton porcelain box and cover of barrel form, decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels featuring panels of courtyard scenes and further panels of flowers birds, fruit and butterflies. On gold ground with green scrolling vine. Height 12 cms. Tiny chip to foot rim, otherwise in good condition.
Very beutiful hand carved wooden box in amazing condition as you can see from photos 26cm long 12cm wide 10cm high in lovely condition was using it for a perfume box for many years please feel free to ask any questions
I have no idea of age or exact materials but seems very intricate and aged so I don't think it is a new reproduction. Decorated with silver? Dragon in the centre and four bees. Shows up much brighter in the photos due to the flash. I would appreciate any input from someone who knows what this might be and how old.. The only similar things I have seen are similarly decorated teapot dated 1860, and a similar pot for sale in the USA for over $350. It does have a mark/signature in the metal of the Base but it is hard to photograph. Free UK postage. If it sells for a lot of money I will pay for insured delivery.
The lid of the box is decorated with an image of nine boys playing on a terrace with an open door to one side and a willow tree in the background, within a border adorned with auspicious Buddhist symbols.
Gold on all sides, character scene on lid plus Chinese mark and artist's signature. There is a surface spider crack underneath lid but only shallow. An excellent piece of old porcelain probably dating from mid to late 19th century.
This is a large Antique c1840 or later Chinese Qing Blue & White Peranakan Porcelain Kamcheng tureen or soup bowl. This is Peranakan Baba Nonya design. This covered tureen has moulded handles and Foo lion finial on the lid.
