I've tried to make out the marking and it says on the label 'FTW' Craftsman. Made in England, Wimbourne. Maybe those of you that know about this rod can shed more light?. This rod belonged to my late father.

The original CC de France was built for and named after a competition in which J.J. Hardy of Hardy Bros. was to compete in. In 1910, armed with his 7' CC de France which he had designed and built in the Alnwick factory for the event, J.J. Hardy entered and won his section in the Casting Club de France competition.
Green tying with brace and double edge, custom made rare cork handle. This shape of handle was often seen. Rod is in excellent original condition, perfectly straight and correct lenght, tight joints and sound varnish.
Very good hafting. The 8' was manufactured in very very few copies. Pieces : Two with one top -. Rod manufactured in 1971 N° 72308411. N° 25 at the base of the heel and at the base of top. Container : Cloth case of origin with pocket for stopper in very good state.
