Beds with Mattresses

Beds with mattresses come in many different sizes ranging from a 3ft single to a 6ft super king. Classic bed frames are typically made from wood or metal.

Divans tend to be a popular choice, providing a firm and sturdy base for the various mattress types available including memory foam, pocket sprung, orthopaedic and hypoallergenic.

Divan Bases

Divan bases are usually upholstered in a variety of materials such as leather or crushed velvet, providing an attractive base for a mattress. They can be pocket sprung, offering a softer top for additional comfort, or have a platform top that will provide a harder feel.

Divan beds typically come without a footboard and sometimes a headboard but these can be bought separately. They also often have hidden under-bed drawers or inbuilt storage compartments.

Divan Beds with Mattresses

Divan beds can be topped with various different mattresses including memory foam, which changes shape when you lie down and returns to form when you stand up. This type of mattress is ideal for those who like sleeping on a softer surface.

Alternatively, you can opt for a pocket sprung mattress, which is less bouncy than a conventional mattress as the individual springs are not connected to one another and only move when impacted. Pocket sprung mattresses also tend to be soft.

Should you wish to sleep on a harder surface, orthopaedic mattresses are much firmer and help to prevent aches and pains throughout the body. They stop the midsection of the body from sinking in the bed which, in turn, stops the spine from bending into an uncomfortable position.

Classic Bed Frames with Mattresses

Classic bed frames are made from strong, durable materials such as wood or metal, with vintage frames often being more elaborate in style than contemporary designs. Classic bed frames made from wood have a distinctive wood grain pattern, which makes each piece of furniture unique. Wooden frames are sometimes whitewashed for a vintage look or given a high-gloss painted finish to give them a contemporary appearance.
