Hadeland Glassverk was originally founded 1762 and began by producing glass bottles, jars and house hold glassware. Hadeland began to create their own designs in the 1920's producing more decorative and artistic pieces.

LOETZ Austria Antique Art Nouveau Art Glass Vase Phänomen Genre 377 c.1900, 11.3cm high A superb antique Loetz Art Nouveau Art Glass Phänomen Genre 377 cobalt blue globular vase with etched Loetz Austria signature to pontil. The decor was first presented at the Paris world fair in 1900 based on a centuries old technique where the molten glass was quenched in cold water and fused again in the furnace. Subsequent rolled silver and re-iridizing created this new method of glass decoration. The beautiful shape and strong homogeneous decoration exhibited on this example demonstrates this technique to perfection. Size: 11.3cm high. The Glass Compote has a Wide Cut Bowl and a Thick Decagon (Ten-sided polygon) Faceted Stem, which stands on a stepped petal-shaped Foot with Star Cut Base. Moser & Söhne was founded in 1857 by Ludwig Moser in Karlsbad, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The glass is rich cobalt blue. There are inclusions within the glass with tiny bubbles and impurities. It has hand wrought pewter cladding, with leaves beading and coiled tendrils. They are attached to the pewter beaded band mid way down the vase.
