  • COALPORT TREATY OF PARIS NAPOLEONIC WARS COMMEMORATIVE VASE & BASE C1814

    This porcelain vase and stand , was made at Coalport . It was made to commemorate the treaty of Paris , in 1814 , which marked the end of the napoleonic wars . It has two nicely moulded masks and is decorated with a cobalt blue ground and handpainted panels of the Prince of Wales feathers , the dove of peace and a lily and a rose , and enriched with gilding . It stands at 5" high and measures 4 3/4" in diameter . It is missing the three feet on the base of the stand , there is a chip on the bottom edge of the vase and 2 flat chips on the inner edge of the hole in the stand , as shown , the gilding is good with just slight wear . I have seen teawares in this pattern before , but never a vase , so I believe it is quite a rare item .

    This porcelain sucrier , was made by Caughley , circa 1780-90 , and bears the Caughley S mark , on the base . It is decorated in the Salopian sprigs pattern . It stands at 4 1/2" high and measures 4 5/8" in diameter . There is a chip on the edge of the cover , as shown , there is no other damage , the gilding is good apart to some wear to the high points of the top edge of the bowl .
