There is a fine crack which runs from the edge and across part of the base , of about 5 1/2" in length , as shown . The gilding is good .

  • COALPORT TREATY OF PARIS NAPOLEONIC WARS COMMEMORATIVE VASE & BASE C1814

    This porcelain vase and stand , was made at Coalport . It was made to commemorate the treaty of Paris , in 1814 , which marked the end of the napoleonic wars . It has two nicely moulded masks and is decorated with a cobalt blue ground and handpainted panels of the Prince of Wales feathers , the dove of peace and a lily and a rose , and enriched with gilding . It stands at 5" high and measures 4 3/4" in diameter . It is missing the three feet on the base of the stand , there is a chip on the bottom edge of the vase and 2 flat chips on the inner edge of the hole in the stand , as shown , the gilding is good with just slight wear . I have seen teawares in this pattern before , but never a vase , so I believe it is quite a rare item .

There is a chip on the top edge of the teabowl , the saucer has some fine speckles of kiln dust and there are some chips and four cracks around the edge of the saucer .     Good example of William Billingsley handpainted dish with colourful delicate floral bouquets within a broad floral border on a cobalt blue ground with heavy highlights.  Wm  Billingsley (1758-1828) formerly of Nantgarw was the chief painter for Coalport and this dish has the painted mark WB to reverse.  I believe it to have been made c.1810-20.  In good condition other than some age-related scuffs and rubbing losses to the gilding, it measures 29.5cms x 22.5cms.  Displays very well - please see all images to fully evaluate.  Detailed overseas postage rates available on request.

    This large white salt glazed stoneware jug , was made in Staffordshire , circa 1760-70s . It bears the seal of King George 3rd with G R initials , and is decorated with a scratched blue decoration . These jugs and types of wares , were used in taverns and public houses . It holds one gallon when filled an inch from the top , it stands at 10" high and measures 10" in diameter from the spout to the handle . There is a very fine crack on the base of the handle , the jug has been broken in half and has old restoration , as shown .

There is a firing crack on his back ankle , from when it was made , this head has been off and has old restoration to the repair and there is a flat chip , on the base , as shown .

There are two fine cracks on the top edge of about 1 1/4" in length , these are not easy to see , there is some wear to the glaze around the top edge and some fine glaze crazing .

    This earthenware jug , was made in Staffordshire . It portrays the Duke of Wellington and was made to commemorated his death in 1852 . It stands at 7 1/8" high and measures 5 5/8" in diameter . There is a firing crack on the top of the handle , from when it was made , a fine crack on the outer side of the spout , of about 1 3/8" in length and another on the inside of the spout , of about 1" in length with a smaller one to the right of it , neither of these go through to the other side , a still attached chip , on the top edge , above the handle . There is also a fine fork shape crack on the base and some fine glaze crazing .
