Camcorder Cables and Adapters
To charge a camcorder, sync data and download videos from a camcorder to a TV, computer, laptop or other device, cables and adapters are needed to connect the two devices. Cables and adaptors can also be used to connect the device to an external power source.
Types of cables
An AC adapter charger connects the camcorder to an external power source in order to charge the device. They have a range of built-in safety features including short circuit protection, overload protection and IC+MOS stabilised voltage supply with over-current protection. The adapter charger will charge the camcorder's battery to supply uninterrupted power.
A data transfer cable connects the camcorder to a computer or laptop to download videos from the device. An efficient data cable can have transfer rates of up to 480Mbps, depending on the USB version. It has a plug-and-play interface so drivers are not required and is suitable for use with a range of different devices.
A 3.5mm Jack to 3 RCA phono lead as well as the USB A to mini B 8 pin data transfer cable, can be used to connect different devices to a TV. Once the cable and device are connected, the phono cable will output video, sound and picture to a TV. This is a great way to share the pictures you have taken with family and friends on a bigger screen.
The IFC-400PCU USB interface cable and the mini USB data sync cable are varieties of data cable for transferring videos from a camcorder to a PC or laptop. It is plug-and-play compatible and the Twisted-Pair construction ensures high speed, error-free transferring of data.
A multi AV cable provides a proprietary plug to the camcorder, an S-video and RCA output. There is also a USB connector that is compatible with a wide range of devices depending on the connector that fits your camcorder.
The AV TV/DVD receiver video cable connects the camcorder to a TV and HDTV, a DVD receiver, projector or VCR for audio and video playback. It features an S-video connector, an RCA video connector and two RCA audio connectors. It has high density double shielding for max rejection of EMI and RFI and has plug-and-play capability.
Before you purchase a replacement cable, make sure the cable is compatible with your camcorder. Many of the cables available are suitable for a wide range of camcorders, cameras and other devices.
