Frontispiece not listed in List of Plates, illustrated with portrait frontispiece & 39 other plates, all present, but bound in pairs throughout the book, not as list of plates specifies. The plates are foxed as is usual, to a varying degree, occasional offsetting from plates. Light scattered foxing or occasional marks throughout, with many of the text pages being clean. Octavo, 22 cm tall (8.75 inches), xvi, 624 pages.
