Clarks Brogues - Men's Formal Footwear
When it comes to looking smart from top to toe, the first thing that may come to mind is a pair of Clarks brogues . The brogue is a classic shoe that deserves its place in every man's wardrobe.
One shoe, different styles
Brogues are easily identifiable by the decorative perforations punched into the leather at the front, sides and back of the shoe. There are four types of brogues depending on the pattern of these perforations.
Full brogues - also called 'wingtips' - and longwing brogues have the most decoration, including a design on the toecap and the classic 'w' shape at the front of the shoe. Semi brogues have a design on the toecap, but fewer perforations on the rest of the shoe. Quarter brogues have perforations just on the shoe toecap.
Shapes, colours and fastenings
Men's brogues have a variety of different shaped toes, including pointed, round andsquare. Classic brogues have laces, but slip on or buckle and strap styles are also available to ensure all tastes are catered for.
Brown and tan are the most traditional colours, although you'll often find two-tone styles and even blue pairs. Black is a classic choice. To really stand out from the crowd, though, choose a pair of oxblood men's brogues.
Although brogues are traditionally made of leather, Clarks also design a selection of men's suede brogues .
The best looks for brogues
Brogues are incredibly versatile shoes. They work with a variety of outfits, although tit is often said that the smarter your clothes, the simpler the patterning on your brogues should be.
Wingtips and longwings should accessorise smart casual outfits and however smart or casual your outfit is, make sure your belt matches your brogues. Of course, you want to show off your brogues in their best light and that means tailoring your look so they - and you - are looking your best.
