These blades were made to be issued to military personnel, should they be captured, to act as a tool for navigating. The blades were magnetised and when held over over or in water, the arrows would always point North.
ESCAPE and EVASION POW - ARMY - RAF - NAVY COMPASS. This escape and evasion razor blade is mentioned in the book “. The blade comes with its original wrapping and is unissued. The Razor Blade does have minor light surface rust marks/spots from 70 years of storage.
Very Rare & Early RAF Escape & Evasion Tunic Button Compass. Very rare and original WW2 RAF escape and evasion tunic button compass. At first glance the button is fairly unremarkable and looks exactly like any other on an RAF tunic.
Air military stop watch has the letters AM 6B/221 then a sub issue number of 8373/41 Stop watch doesn't work. Needs new needle and the glass is missing. The watch measures 50mm in diameter & 12mm in thickness. The escape compass has Neil Garth scratched onto the back of the case. It doesn't show very well on the photographs. It appears to be in good working order although the glass has some scratching. This lot was all found together and I believe they are from the same source. The leather strap and T-bar is also included in the lot. Postage will be 2nd class signed for and free.
