  • PAIR SEVRES STYLE EXOTIC BIRDS POSSIBLY DERBY METAL MOUNTED VASES C1835-40

    This pair of porcelain vases , was made , circa 1835-40 , they are decorated in the Sevres style and are probably Derby . There is a tea service in this pattern , shown in the Derby book by John Twitchett , on page 246 . They are decorated with handpainted exotic birds within a blue border and enriched with raised gilding . They are later mounted in a silver plated metal mounts , this has worn traces of gilding . They stand at 3 3/4" high and measure 3 1/8" in diameter . There is a fine crack on one side , this has been restored over on the inside , and has a fine crack on the base , the other vase has some staining on the inside and both have staining on the bases .

  • STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE FIGURE OF THE SONGSTERS WITH SHEEP & A GOAT C1820

    This pearlware figure , was made in Staffordshire , circa 1820 . It portrays the songsters . It is nicely modeled and handpainted with a man playing the bag pipes and a woman playing a mandolin , they have his dog in the centre and are surrounded with a goat and some sheep. It stands at 7 3/8" high and measures 4 5/8" x 3 3/4" in diameter on the base . There are some losses to the bocage , her arm and mandolin end have been broken off and restored , and there is some flaking and retouching to the enamels , mostly on the man and his bag pipes , he also has a chip to the feather on the top of his hat and a fine crack on the inside of the base .     Excellent decorative condition, enamels and gilding excellent with some enamel wear to base, old reasonable quality restoration, from what I can see the goat has had some retouching of enaels, repairs to tail, horns and ears.The lady has slight repair /retouching to rim of hat, her left leg, her arms and baby.Possible repair to one tiny babies head in basket at back, possible repair to one handle of basket of pannier of milk/cheeses.It looks very tidy and presentable, base looks untouched, unglazed bottom, hand incised shape no62 and remnants of "pad" marks typical of late 18thC Derby porcelain.see pictures.

It measures 14 1/2" x 10 3/4" in diameter . There is a chip on the edge , two fine stained cracks on the edge of about 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" in length and some glaze crazing with staining .

    This porcelain inkstand , was made , circa 1830s , there are no factory marks and I do not know who made it . It has an integral base , a flower finial and is decorated a turquoise band of flowers within two cobalt blue bands and enriched with raised gilded dots . It stands at 3 7/8" high and measure 6 1/2" in diameter . There is a fine glaze line on the base , which is difficult to see and some fine cracks around the top edge , I am not sure if it would have had a liner or not , if yes then it is missing the gilding is good with very slight wear .
