The vase starts with an elongated oblong raised unglazed plinth base which surrounds a large glazed area that displays the most beautiful Rimini Blue colouration and various script marks and impressed marks.
Iconic Lancastrian Pottery, England, comprising a cup, saucer and third item which is equally attractive either as a vase or utensil holder. All the pieces are in very good condition. This iconic set is in a vibrant and stylish retro shade of purple.
The "W. GERMANY" and the "489 - 23" are very clear on the base. I have not managed to photograph that clarity. The 489 is the form (shape) number and the 23 is the hight in cms. Mid 20th. century make - probably 1960's.
Either way this is a very attractive, hand-finished tactile vase the main body of which has a "sand grain" finish into which is cut a hand-painted olive green flower and leaves. Reduced from £15 to £10.
