  • Antique Bavaria Map 1743 Engraving Homann Heirs includes Munich Area Ex Cond

An original 1743 engraving of Munich Germany and the surrounding area. Copper-engraving, hand colored in wash and outlined. Its overall measurement is 24" wide by 21" high. Published in Nuremburg, Germany by the Homann Heirs. It is in very good condition with no restoration, marks, or tears. Being from an antique portfolio it has a center fold line which has no breaks or splits. Appraised as authentic by Swann Galleries with an auction value of $600-$800. There is light foxing which can be seen in the photos. I show the back side to see the paper condition as well as to help verify its authenticity. Note that the stain is an etch through of just the green color as a result of the chemical used for green during that era. Feel free to ask questions.
