Men's Long Riding Boots
Men's long riding boots are designed and produced for horse riding or riding motorbikes but can be worn as pieces of fashion as well. The boots are generally knee length and come up that high to ensure the saddle or parts of the motorbike don't pinch or rub on the rider's leg.
These boots also have robust and durable steel toes to protect the rider's foot when on the ground next to the horse or if scraping along the tarmac. The boots also have a distinctive heel that is big enough to prevent the boot slipping back through the stirrup.
The sole is usually only lightly surfaced or smooth in order to avoid getting caught and dragged along in case of a fall.
Men's long riding boots usually come in leather and equileather. Equileather is a synthetic material designed especially for saddles and riding boots. It is much easier to clean than normal leather as mud and dirt can simply be wiped off. Leather on the other hand is more comfortable and durable, but takes a bit more work to keep clean and looking good.
The boots also come in rubber wellington boots style, which are excellent for keeping feet warm and dry whatever you are doing.
These boots are great for both general riding and competition wear such as show jumping and other equestrian events as well as motor-biking.
Some people also wear them as part of their general day to day outfits. This means that new styles have been introduced including long riding boots with textile uppers, as well as top fashion brands bringing out their own ranges of knee high men's boots.
