As the title suggests , this amazing little paperback has songs for moving , singing and playing instruments. The children love them ! . Having a major teachers resources clear out so please ask for other teacher music/other subjects resources. The drawings by children's author David McKee are a bonus! This teacher’s book contains four practice papers completed with the answers to the questions, together with the mark scheme. The blank student question papers are missing. Although the questions refer to a previous Edexcel examination course, the questions can still be used with students to test their recognition of devices, techniques, forms and structures in unfamiliar works. A requisite of the current examination syllabus - wider listening. The book comes with the original CD which contains all the extracts in the book.

The book can be used to encourage best practice in music writing which can then be applied to their own compositions. There are 16 listening exercises each set out in two parts, the teacher’s notes including the answers and student notes which consist of worksheets. The recordings for these exercises are not included but can be readily found on YouTube. The 59 pages are not bound but are presented as single sheets.

ThisBBC Publication offers a progressive development of musical experience in an easy to use format. The book contains guidance on lesson focus on musical skills, concepts and elements, resource organisation,action points, follow up and lesson summary. The songs and dances used ( see image 2) are presented in a piano accompaniment format with the lyrics between the staves. There are simple guitar chords indicated too. The words and music have been selected from the whole of the Tudor and Stuart period but mainly from the time of Elizabeth 1.
