This is a very interesting piece of early Victorian vernacular. It is very large and I think it is made in oak. This is a beautiful looking thing. Its size makes it particularly stunning and it would be an interesting furnishing piece in a large space like a barn conversion.

The box has undergone some alterations over the years including the addition of hinges to to front of the box allowing the front to open in a similar way to a Writing Bureau.
