  • ENA HARKNESS CLIMBING ROSE SCENTED REPEAT FLOWERING BARE ROOT ** ANY 4 FOR 3 **

$ENA HARKNESS CLIMBING ROSE The origins of this rose started with the Hybrid Tea variety that made the fortune of the Harkness family. Bred by Albert Norman who later became president of the National Rose Society of Great Britain. Harkness introduced it as a Hybrid Tea in 1946. This climbing variety was created later in 1954 by Gurteen and Ritsen nursery. Seen as an improved version of Crimson Glory, with larger, shapelier flowers which keep their crimson colour longer. The neck is weak which results in the heavy heads drooping over but this is seen as a strength in the climbing variety; looking up at it you can see straight into the heart of the rose. The colour is deep, intense, smooth and velvety. Free flowering, they start blooming early in the season and continue through until late autumn.
