    A gorgeous Yew wood tea caddy in a classic Georgian form with box wood stringing and figured Yew veneers. Glorious rich colour with wonderful burr patterning to all sides. Beautifully crafted edging comprising of solid Box Wood. Each piece of Yew wood is surrounded by fine Box wood stringing's lifting this caddy from the rest. Dated to around the 1780's. Diamond-shaped keyhole escutcheon in white bone to front. Two compartment interior, with lift up lids in burr Yew wood and matching button lifting knobs. Paper lining to underside of top. Seated on ball feet with a pair of quality lifting handles to the sides. Comes with key, lid closes well. Lock is all present and fully working. Superb well waxed sheen to its well maintained polish, no major damage or loses can be seen. An exceptional quality piece, and a superb example of craftsmanship.
