This antique french bed has been reupholstered. The fabric on the headboard sit still just above the top of the pillow line. So it would be easier to keep clean. Painted in a natural linen with a dark wax top coat for an antique paint look.
The beds probably date to the 1930s. The burr walnut is a good rich polished colour. The beds are raised on original small casters. As with all rail beds you will need to get slats to run over the rails to form a base for your mattresses.
The beds probably date to the 1950s. They are made in the Georgian design with bow shaped foot boards on splay feet. The head and footboard are inlaid with box wood stringing. The beds are solid when built.
Their bedroom furniture was very well made and very expensive. The beds are in good condition. The bases are clean. The beds are solid when put together. Marks to the blonde walnut as you would expect but these are not significant on a finish which gains from the shabby chic look of age.
The mahogany is rich and polished. The beds probably date to the 1950s. They have slatted ends so the beds are airy and won't overpower your space. They will also be comfortable to sleep in. The beds have decorative blind fretwork to the top rail with pitted ground to make the polished mahogany ovals stand out.
2 headboards & 2 footboards, we think they are walnut but not 100%, the headboard are on little plastic feet & the footboards are on queen Ann legs, there are no cross bars- just the original brackets to attach them to. As you can see by photos there is wear & year & by no means great condition hence 99p start price. Collection only.
